Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@selfrescueisnotforsuicide.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

SRINS training equips people to recognize suicide risk early, engage safely, and take appropriate action—the same way workplaces train employees to spot hazards, respond to injuries, or manage emergencies.

This training focuses on early recognition, peer intervention, and clear response pathways before a crisis becomes fatal.

SRINS training is not therapy, counseling, or clinical treatment.
It does not require participants to disclose personal experiences or diagnoses.

This is safety training, not group therapy and not an HR disciplinary process.

No.
SRINS training bridges the gap before clinical care is involved.

It helps coworkers, supervisors, and peers identify risk earlier and route people to appropriate help sooner, rather than waiting for a crisis.

SRINS training is appropriate for:

  • Supervisors and safety leaders

  • Frontline workers and crews

  • Peer supporters and team leads

  • Organizations operating in high-risk, high-stress, or isolated environments

No prior mental health background is required.

Training is delivered in person and emphasizes:

  • Practical discussion

  • Scenario-based learning

  • Real-world decision-making

Training may be held on-site at your facility or at a central or host location, depending on availability and logistics.

Training length varies based on audience and format, but most sessions range from 2 to 4 hours.

Extended or customized sessions may be available upon request.

Sponsored training means the cost of training is covered by a sponsor (such as a company, organization, or donor), allowing training to be delivered at no cost to the recipient group.

Sponsors may receive public acknowledgment with approval.

At this time, sponsorships are not tax-deductible.

Sponsorships are treated as direct support for training delivery, not charitable donations.

SRINS has applied for federal 501(c)(3) status and is operating as a not-for-profit organization while approval is pending.

Training and sponsorship activities may proceed during this period due to the urgency of the issue.

SRINS training does not replace emergency response.

If there is immediate danger:

  • Call 911

  • Or call/text 988 (U.S. Suicide & Crisis Lifeline)

SRINS exists to reduce the number of times emergencies reach that point.
